I was reviewing possible books for our book club for
2009. I can't read another historical fiction novel. One of the books at the top of my list
was The Shack. So interesting! When I looked at Asbury's weekly bulletin for this week, I was so excited that I can read this book and listen to a related sermon series. That is why I am disappointed with myself today! I wanted to go to Asbury's contemporary service @ 7:30AM. Problem being that I needed to awaken @ 4:45-5AM to get ready to leave by 6:15AM for the hour long, three mile ride in my wheelchair. I didn't get to bed until 2AM. I can download the sermon for today and plan to attend next Sunday. I want to go to the earliest service because it is the service that I am least likely to run into anyone I know, plus it is so beautiful, quiet, and cool in the early morning. This is two Sundays in a row that I've flaked out because I'm so tired from staying up so late. I intend to obtain the book this week and get myself there next Sunday!!! Listen to this declaration Carla...

BTW - I've decided to adopt Rhea's 50 page rule. What a great idea! Thanks, Rhea! (The rule is that if a book has not grabbed Rhea's attention by the time she has read 50 pages, she stops reading the book because her time is valuable and should not be wasted on a book that is not enjoyable.)

Man! 7:30 am is pretty early, even for the most devout! I hope you'll be able to make it, sounds like you're really wanting to! Any updates on the converted Element? Hope you like the 50 page rule. ..it saved me from Twilight! I'm looking forward to our next selection though.

Are you in a book club Rhea? We're on our way to Atlanta in a few hours. Going shopping, Agatha's Mystery Dinner Theater, and the High Art Museum to see the newest exhibit from the Lourve. Haven't proceeded any further with the Element yet. I love the 50 page rule! Thanks!
