"Reflect on your present blessings, of which every man has many; not on your past misfortunes of which all men have some" -Charles Dickens -----
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -Buddha

"In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer
-----
"We count our miseries carefully, and accept our blessings without much thought."
-Chinese Proverb

Gratitude is a practice that is so easily overlooked or taken for granted, however, when one begins considering every act of kindness experienced, there are so many opportunities to be grateful that it is overwhelming. I am a living, breathing example of someone who is the holder of more blessings than be counted. For each and every person who helped me and my family over three years ago after a car accident left me paralyzed and in critical condition, in an unfamiliar city, among strangers, I will forever be grateful. Because I would not know where to begin, I pray a prayer of thanksgiving that I hope in some way blesses everyone who was involved. The legal proceedings are over and I am so relieved...
